The wild birds were here long before us and thankfully they still are an integral part of the garden and have given us hours of pleasure. With no licence fee or monthly subscription to pay the sparrows, tits and chaffinches with their comedic antics and live drama treat us to the best value entertainment.
Until recently goldfinches were very rare visitors, until that is we extended the menu to cater to their needs. Within two hours of hanging up the niger seed feeder a family of goldfinches had joined the feast.
