From start to end
Started in 2009 by getting rid of weeds and multiple barrow loads of stones and boulders then we added 10 tons of grit sand and the same of well rotted manure.
The back bone of the garden went in first ie the path at the back and 3 Phormium Tenax planted to form a triangle.
We started the planting by concentrating on perennial plants and bulbs and by 2010 it is taking shape. We used young plants as we were looking after the pennies. We had to resist the urge to plant closer together as we had to make sure that the plants had plenty of room to grow and mature.
2011, it’s taking shape,the slate paths and lawn are in and the garden has been covered in bark to try and keep the moisture in and the weeds out.
2012 Box hedge is in.
