Who would have thought – April with hardly any showers. Since I’ve been gardening I can’t remember having to water the garden so often and so early in the season.

Neither would I have been able to predict that the crisis that is Covid 19 would have allowed more time in the garden, a somewhat bitter/sweet experience in the midst of tragedy.

The vegetable patch is flourishing, partly because of the good weather and partly because of the extra care and attention that’s been lavished on it.  Barring any disasters or accidents we should be harvesting the first new potatoes before the end of May. We’ll see, but I will be sure to let you know.

Astonishingly and to my utter amazement the white garden is actually white. For sometime now I’ve had misgivings about naming this patch the white garden thinking it a bit of a misnomer as it seldom lived up to its name. I’m daring to hope that we’ve got the planting right this year. Let’s hope so!!!!
